LCSO Graduates Two from 2012 Honor Guard Academy

Loudoun County, VA – Two members the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office recently graduated from the 2012 Honor Guard Academy. The academy was held at the Advance Training Center in Harper’s Ferry, WV and was hosted by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Sergeant John Davis and Deputy Specialist Joshua Lowder participated in the 5-day rigorous training course where they received instruction in the fundamental duties of the Ceremonial Honor Guard. At the completion of the course, they were proficient in conducting final honors including honor watch; flag folding, casket duty, rifle party and color guard.

“The graduation of Sergeant Davis and Deputy Specialist Lowder will ensure the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard continues to represent the agency proudly and follow in a longstanding tradition of exceptional public service and professionalism,” said Major John Fraga, of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Operational Support Division.

On May 25, 2012, Mr. Robert Zuniga, National Honor Guard Commander, Office of Field Operations, gave his congratulatory remarks to the 2012 Honor Guard Academy graduating class for successfully completing the course. Members of the graduating class included CBP Officers, Air & Marine Agents and Deputy Specialist Lowder and Sergeant Davis from the Loudon County Sheriff Office.

These Honor Guard members leave the training with confidence knowing they will be able to appropriately and respectfully render Final Honors.
