LCSO Crime Analysis Unit Participate in U.S. Department of Justice EPIC Training

Loudoun County, VA: Two members of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Crime Analysis Unit recently participated in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) El Paso Intelligence Center (EPIC) training in El Paso, Texas.

Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Crime Analyst Victoria Slade and Criminal Information and Records Specialist Catherine Nash received training in accessing federal databases, including the EPIC System Portal which encompasses numerous state, local and federal databases.
The access to federal databases includes the EPIC Internal Database/EPIC10, NSS (National Seizure System), EPIC Law Enforcement Information Search and Analysis (ELISA) that includes One DOJ, FAA Flight Systems, DPD (Drug Precursor Database), NADDIS (Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Information System), LPR (License Plate Reader – combining existing DEA, HIDTA and CBP databases), DARTS (DEA Analysis and Response Tracking System, TECS (Treasury Enforcement Communications Systems), NCIC, CIS (Central Index System), Aircraft Registry System, BOP (Bureau of Prisons Sentry), JDIS (US Marshals Service Justice Detainee Info System, WIN (Warrant Information Network) and PTS (Prisoner Tracking System).

In addition to accessing these systems, if further analysis or information is needed, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Crime Analysis Unit will be able to access the Watch Center which represents multi-agency partners including the DEA, ATF, FBI, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Department of Homeland Security.
