Loudoun County has retained Tyler Technologies, Inc., CLT Appraisal Services, to provide real estate data collection services to enhance the accuracy of the Loudoun County Office of the Assessor’s database of real estate characteristics.
Data collection teams from Tyler Technologies will conduct field inventory work beginning this week in the Greenway Farms and Country Club areas of Leesburg. Work will be conducted between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The field inventory work is to be completed by the fall of 2013.
The data collectors will:
• Ring the doorbell or knock on the door, introduce themselves, and show their badge. • Verify building characteristics (bath and bedroom count, heating/cooling system, basement type, fireplace and other pertinent interior information) with the owner or occupant. • Conduct an exterior inspection to verify information and measure home and other improvements (decks, porches, patios, sheds, garages, etc.) • If no one is home, a door hanger will be left for the homeowner with instructions on how the interior data can be verified.
The data collectors will not:
• Peek in doors or windows. • Ask to inspect any personal property. • Ask any personal questions. • Be able to answer any specific value-related questions. • Enter any structures without permission from an adult occupant.
The staff completing the field work will be wearing county identification badges at all times. Residents who have questions, or would like to confirm the identity of personnel, may call the Tyler project office at 703-777-0545 or the Loudoun County Assessor’s Office at 703-777-0267.
