Loudoun County Administrator Tim Hemstreet announced today the appointment of Joe Kroboth as the county’s Director of the Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure, effective March 14, 2013. Kroboth comes to Loudoun County from Washington County, Maryland, where he served as the Director of Public Works.
“I believe Mr. Kroboth brings a wealth of experience in both capital construction and transportation infrastructure development. He is uniquely positioned to lead the important work that needs to be done to create a quality transportation network that is so important to Loudoun County,” says Hemstreet.
Kroboth has more than 30 years of local government experience. His areas of expertise include civil engineering, planning, managing and implementing capital improvement programs, leading multi- modal transportation planning, negotiating public works agreements and citizen engagement.
Kroboth holds a master’s degree in business administration from Frostburg State University and a bachelor’s degree in civil and structural engineering from the University of Maryland.
