The Loudoun County Department of Family Services:
Provides services to help residents in need become self-sufficient members of their families and communities
Assists eligible families with child care and adoption services
Provides foster care for children placed by the court or through official entrustment agreements
Coordinates programs to help elderly residents with shopping, transportation and housework
Investigates cases of abuse and neglect; conducts family counseling
Provides nutritional and financial assistance to low-income families
Offers community employment and training services
Oversees the county's Youth Shelter and Juvenile Detention Center
