Animal Shelter Volunteer Program
Welcome to the Loudoun County Animal Shelter volunteer program!
We are seeking dedicated animal lovers to become a part of our volunteer team. There are a variety of volunteer positions available, maybe one is perfect for you!
To register to be a volunteer you are required to meet the following criteria:

Be at least 16 years old, except for the Volunteer Apprentice position. (Some positions require volunteers to be 18 or older.);

Be willing to attend appropriate volunteer training;

Be committed to volunteering at least once a week for a minimum of two hours; and

Complete a volunteer application. You may:

Upon receipt of the application, the interested individual will be invited by the Volunteer Coordinator to participate in a non-committal orientation. The Volunteer Coordinator will provide the date and time of each orientation upon receipt of the application. The orientation will provide all interested persons with basic information about the animal shelter operations, programs and services, as well as more information on the training process to become a volunteer for the shelter. The orientation is designed to help you and the shelter staff assess your level of interest and time commitment.
Current Volunteers
VicNet is used to post volunteer schedules, hours donated, and keep volunteers up to date on changes in the Animal Shelter. Please remember to log your hours daily and post your schedule at least 4 weeks in advance. Current volunteers may click on the link below to access the VicNet.
