The control of communicable diseases is a key means by which the Loudoun County Health Department works to ensure the health and well-being of its residents. This is accomplished through: disease surveillance and follow-up of reportable diseases, epidemiologic investigations, administering immunizations for vaccine-preventable disease, and testing and treatment of tuberculosis, sexually-transmitted diseases and HIV.
