The Home-Delivered Meals Program is available to eligible Loudoun County residents age 60 and over or those who are disabled and cannot prepare their own meals for medical and/or physical reasons, and have no other assistance available. Volunteers deliver a hot, nutritious, noontime meal, Monday through Friday. (Non-perishable and frozen meals are available for weekends, or for older residents who live outside the delivery area). Although there is no-fee required, donations are accepted and appreciated. Eligibility is determined by an in-home assessment conducted by a qualified Area Agency on Aging program specialist.Volunteer opportunities for the Home-Delivered Meals Program are available at numerous locations throughout the county. Meals are prepared, packaged, and delivered to local communities and county sites for distribution by volunteers. Delivery times vary depending on the location of the site. Individuals may volunteer for as little as 1 hour per month, week or day. A Home-Delivered Meals Volunteer provides more than a daily meal to older residents, they provide the gift of friendship.
