Office of Public Information
Cable Television and OVS Administration
|
The Public Information Office administers the county’s cable television and open video system (OVS) franchises, and provides staff support to the Cable & Open Video Systems Commission.
Loudoun currently has two cable television providers -- Comcast and Verizon, each of which holds a non-exclusive franchise with the county. The county's franchise agreements with Comcast and Verizon are online. They are in a .pdf format and require the Adobe Reader, which may be downloaded for free below:
Comcast has offices in Leesburg at 208 South King Street, and in Ashburn at 21730 Red Rum Road. Comcast can be reached by calling toll free 1-800-COMCAST (1-800-266-2278). The local Public Access telephone number is 571-223-1355.
The customer service number for Verizon's FiOS cable television service is 1-888-591-6076.
OpenBand has a franchise to provide OVS service in Lansdowne and part of Broadlands. OpenBand's customer service telephone number is 866-673-6226 or 703-961-1110. OpenBand customers should receive a trouble ticket number when they call customer service or complete a trouble ticket online. To complete a trouble ticket online, OpenBand customers may go to www.openband.net, login to their own customer care account, click on the Support tab, and click on the link "Submit New Problem."
The Public Information Office offers assistance to cable and OVS subscribers who have experienced ongoing problems with the cable or OVS company. To report an outage or a problem with service call your cable provider’s customer service number. If you are unable to get a resolution you may call the Loudoun County cable hotline at 703-777-0218 or file a complaint form online.
The Town of Leesburg has a separate franchise agreement with Comcast and Verizon. Town residents should report complaints to 703-771-2709.
