Opportunities are Available to Participate in County Government

The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors encourages residents to become actively involved in their county government. There are currently opportunities for people to serve on the following county and regional advisory boards, commissions and committees.

  • Advisory Commission on Youth: Broad Run, Leesburg & Potomac Districts

  • Affordable Dwelling Unit (ADU) Advisory Board: Six representatives:

    • ADU Program participant;
    • A residential builder or developer with extensive experience in producing multi-family dwelling units;
    • Civil engineers and/or land surveyors and/or architects or planners with extensive experience in practice in Loudoun County;
    • Public at-large;
    • Representative of a qualified non-profit, housing group providing service in Loudoun County;
    • Representative of a lending institution which finances residential development in Loudoun County  (Note For more information about the ADU Board, contact Shelita Adams, ADU Program Manager, 571-258-3060 or e-mail shelita.adams@loudoun.gov or   jill.brady@loudoun.gov.)

  • Commission on Aging: Blue Ridge & Sterling Districts

  • Community Services Board: Three at-large representatives

  • Commuter Bus Advisory Board: Blue Ridge District

  • Disability Services Board: Four at-large representatives

  • Dulles Town Center Community Development Authority: Landowner’s representative; Board of Supervisor’s representative

  • Housing Advisory Board: Housing Advisory Board: Non-profit, affordable housing developer; Affordable housing finance consultant/advisor; At-large representative

  • Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Resident Advisory Board: One alternate member
    (Board members must be a resident of a Housing Choice Voucher household). For more information, contact Stuart Shatz, HCV Division Manager, at 703-737-8969.

  • Loudoun Health Council: Local physician representative; faith-based community representative; business community representative

  • Loudoun Water Board of Directors: Two at-large representatives

  • Parks, Recreation and Open Space Board: Sterling District
