| Visit the Loudoun County Solid Waste Management Facility, also known as the Loudoun County Landfill, for free mulch, available to residents on a first-come, first- served basis year-round. Over two million pounds of wood mulch is produced each year from trees, branches, stumps, and other vegetative debris through a double-grind process. Lumber, furniture, and other constructed-wood products are not used to produce the mulch. The Loudoun County Solid Waste Management Facility is located at 21101 Evergreen Mills Road, (Rt. 621) approximately four miles south of Leesburg (on the right if coming from Leesburg). Facility hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Phone: 703-771-5500. |

An industrial grinder is used to produce tons of mulch.

Residents bring tools to load their mulch.
