The Franklin Park Arts Center is proud to be the home for VSA Arts Virginia–Loudoun County. Founded in 1989, VSA arts Virginia-Loudoun County ( VSAV-LC) is a fully inclusive visual and performing arts program that provides discovery opportunities for individuals with and without disabilities. Acting, dancing, drawing, sculpting — whatever form of creating you choose is done side by side with people of all ages and abilities. VSAV-LC provides opportunities that allow you to focus on what you can do, your strengths and talents, and use the arts to bring out your creative best. On February 2, 2008, The Franklin Park Arts Center opened its doors to the public with a Celebration of the Arts! The Franklin Park Arts Center’s first full season began on September 5, 2008, 10 years to the day that the first timbers were raised. Welcome! After more than a decade of effort, the dream of a dedicated arts center for Loudoun County has been realized. So much has been given to make the dream come alive: time, money, dedication and above all- faith. Faith that one day this Arts Center would open its doors and welcome in artists and patrons. Some said it would never happen, but it has. To the many thousands of you who gave your time, treasure and energy to this project– thank you. Come back often and enjoy the fruits of your effort. Your work made this center possible, so it is only right that you get the satisfaction of seeing others enjoy this facility and the artists who give it life. Speaking of artists, we are delighted to present you with a full season of great art. Many of the names in our season you already know, others may be new or a surprise to you. Throughout the season you will have the opportunity to attend benefit performances and exhibits, many raising awareness and support for vital community organizations and causes. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy remarkable performances and visual artwork absolutely free of charge. At the Arts Center, we are committed to providing diverse creative opportunities to our diverse (and very creative) community– there is something for everyone! On behalf of Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services and the staff of the Franklin Park Arts Center, welcome to the Inaugural Season at your arts center!
