Why are vehicles I currently own not listed?
There are a variety of reasons a vehicle may not be displayed. Our recoreds may not be updated if you have:
Recently purchased a vehicle or moved a vehicle into Loudoun County and have not registered it with the Commissioner of Revenue
Moved or changed your name and not notified the Commissioner of Revenue’s Office

Why are my business personal property accounts not listed?
Our search requires a match of a minimum of the first four characters of a last name / business name, the last six digits of your SSN or FEIN and your five- digit zip code. If you have recently changed any of the required information, please contact the Commissioner of Revenue’s Office via email at

or by phone at 703-777-0260 to verify your account information.

There is a vehicle listed that I no longer own. Whom do I contact?

I have a leased vehicle, why can’t I register for E-Bill?
Leasing Companies are the registered owners of the vehicles, regardless of any contractual agreement between the lessor and the lessee as to the payment of personal property tax. Additionally, leased vehicles are registered with the Tax Identification Number of the Leasing Company. Therefore, the individual Lessee may not sign up for E-Billing.

Who needs to sign an authorization form?
All owners are required to sign a separate authorization form. In the case of accounts that are jointly owned, all parties must sign a form. For business accounts this must be someone who is authorized to sign on behalf of the company.

Why must all owners sign a form?
Pursuant to
Virginia Code §58.1-3912
, we are required to obtain a separate authorization from each owner of an account.

I signed up for E-Bill but have not received an e-mail confirmation. Why is that?
Please check your spam and junk folders for our email. There have been some occurrences where our email has been determined by your provider to be considered spam or junk email. Please ensure that the email of
ebill@loudoun.gov
is included in your trusted email.
8.
Will my information be sold or provided to other agencies for purposes other than receiving my tax bills?
The Treasurer’s Office treats tax information with the utmost care; we will not provide your e-mail information to any outside source or any internal source for purposes other than providing a tax bill notification.
9.
Why did I still receive a paper bill when I signed up for the E-Bill process?
There are a couple of reasons why you may have received a paper bill for your account:
Signing up for the E-Bill is a two step process. If both parts of the registration (online registration and a signed authorization) were not received by the Treasurer’s Office, you will receive a paper bill.
If the vehicle is jointly titled, the two step registration process must be completed by all owners. If we did not receive authorization from all owners you will receive a paper bill.
If you have signed up E-Bill within a month of a due date, we might have already processed your paper bill for mailing.
If any of your account ownership information changes (SSN/FEIN, Name) a new E-Bill online registration and a new signed authorization form will need to be completed and returned to the Treasurer’s Office.
10.
When will I receive my decal?
Decals will be mailed within two weeks of receiving your payment. If you do not receive the decal within 30 days of submitting your payment, please contact our office to expedite a replacement.
11.
I believe there is an error in the assessed value of my vehicle. Whom do I contact?
Contact the Commissioner of the Revenue’s Office concerning the assessed value, tax period, late filing penalty or Car Tax Relief by email at
