The Loudoun County Department of Family Services:
- Assists eligible families with child care and adoption services
- Coordinates programs to help elderly residents with shopping, transportation, and housework
- Investigates cases of abuse and neglect and conducts family counseling
- Offers community employment and training services
- Oversees the county's Youth Shelter and Juvenile Detention Center
- Provides foster care for children placed by the court or through official entrustment agreements
- Provides nutritional and financial assistance to low-income families
- Provides services to help residents in need become self-sufficient members of their families and communities
