Special Notice
Due to a complete hardware failure, the Loudoun County telephone-based Automated Inspection Request System (AIRS) is not available.  During the interim we strongly suggest that you use the Web-Automated Inspection Request System (WAIRS) to schedule construction inspections and/or to cancel construction inspections.  Customers may also view inspection results using WAIRS.  his service is available 24 hours a day and is accessible at www.loudoun.gov/wairs.

Those who do not have access to the Internet may call 703-771-5331 and they will be connected with a member of our Permit Issuance Team who will assist with scheduling.  Please be aware that the team members are available from Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  After that time, callers may leave a message which will be responded to the next business day.  The inspection will not be scheduled for 24 hours.

System Instructions

To use the system, please call 703-771-5331. You will be instructed to select one of six options:
  1. Request Inspections
  2. Check the Results of Inspections
  3. Enter Speed Request
  4. Cancel Inspections
  5. Listen to Instructions
  6. End the Call

Requesting an Inspection
To request an inspection, please choose number 1 from the phone options, and follow these instructions:
  1. Key Permit Number when requested.
(The permit number is found in the upper right hand corner of your permit. You must enter the FIRST letter (B=2, E=3, G=4, K=5, M=6, P=7, T=8) and the last digits of the permit number.)
  2. Enter three digit Inspection Type Code from Inspection Type Codes listed.
  3. Listen while AIRS repeats your entries. If your request cannot be processed as entered, further information and/or instructions will be given.
  4. Upon approval you are given an authorization number.  The authorization number is required to cancel inspection requests.
  5. You may request additional inspections

Note: Always follow entries with an *(asterisk) when requested. The * is the bottom left hand key on your telephone key pad.

AIRS enters inspection requests for work to be performed on the following work day.

Speed Requests:

The procedure for entering speed requests is essentially the same as regular requests except the prompts are much shorter and less descriptive. Therefore, you must be familiar with the regular request procedures before using the speed request.
