Station 2
History
The Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company was formed in the early 1900s. At the time, two hand-drawn chemical wagons were placed in service. In 1923, PVFD received its charter and the era of motorized fire apparatus began. The company has had four different station locations in the town over the years and has been at its current location since 2009. The Purcellville Public Safety Center houses both the Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company (Company 2) and the Purcellville Volunteer Rescue (Company 14) and is the largest station in Loudoun County. The station operates nine apparatus including a Rescue Engine, Tower Ladder, Tanker and Brush specialty pieces.
