Keeping Kids Safe from Lyme Disease
Thanks to the more than 100 people who attended the May 9, 2013, forum sponsored by the Loudoun Lyme Disease Commission in partnership with Congressman Frank Wolf at Frederick Douglass Elementary School in Leesburg.
The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the formation of the Lyme Disease Commission at its March 20, 2012, business meeting. The Lyme Disease Commission held its first meeting on June 21, 2012.
The mission of the Lyme Disease Commission is to work with county staff to implement the Board of Supervisors’ 10-Point Action Plan to Mitigate Lyme Disease
The Lyme Disease Commission includes nine members appointed by the Board of Supervisors, a representative of the Loudoun Health Council and a representative of the Loudoun County Health Department.
Bylaws for the Lyme Disease Commission were approved by the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors on September 18, 2012, and are available online.
All meetings are open to the public. Dates, times and locations of the meetings are posted on the Loudoun County Government Master Calendar
