Replacement Permits
Permit Renewal
Once approved by the court and processed by the clerk's office, your concealed handgun permit is valid for five years. You may renew your permit by completing the application as outlined above; however, you would indicate in the appropriate box that you are renewing your permit. In order to maintain your authorization, the application for renewal should be submitted to the clerk's office at least 90 days prior, but no more than 180 days prior to the expiration of your current permit. Within these guidelines the new permit mailed to the applicant becomes effective upon expiration of the existing permit.

Duplicate Permits
If you lose or destroy your permit or wish to change your address, you must complete the Request for Duplicate Permit form and file it with the Loudoun Circuit Court. Your original permit must have been issued by Loudoun County Circuit Court. The form is signed under oath verifying that you are still eligible to carry a concealed handgun. You may complete the form in front of a Notary Public or with a deputy clerk at the Civil Division window of the Clerk of the Circuit Court during normal business hours. You will need valid photo identification and a $10 payment to complete the process.

Submitting Requests
Duplicate Permit requests may be submitted in person or by mail. Bring your notarized request and filing fee to the Civil Division of the Clerk of the Circuit Court during normal business hours or send your completed paperwork and filing fee to:
