Land Records Recording Division

Land records are public documents available for your review and inspection. The records and indexes are retained from 1757 to present. Land Record Recording Division provides a service of recording and making available for public of various documents pertaining to real estate in Loudoun County that include, but not limited to, deeds, deeds of trust, liens, easements, plats, certificate of satisfaction and releases, judgments, and the like. 
            
Document Recordation
General guidance for the documents submitted for recordation can be found on recording information page for deeds and judgments page for judgments, foreign judgments and judgment releases. 

Documents for recordation are accepted by Recording Division in person at Loudoun County Clerk of the Circuit Court office, via mail or online via e-recording service. In order to e-record with Loudoun County, please refer to E-Recording page for more information. When mailing in documents for recording, please use one of the following address:

Recordation Cost and Payments
Fees schedule of clerks fees and tax rate as well as deed calculator can be used to estimate recordation costs. Clerk’s office accepts checks, cash and credit cards (more information on credit card payments available here) as forms of payment for recordation of the document. Checks to be payable to “Clerk of the Circuit Court”. 
            
Land Records Remote Retrieval System 
Land Records Recordation Division also offers remote access to Land Records Remote Retrieval System for dedicated title abstractors and professionals whose nature of business requires frequent research of Loudoun County Land Records. Service is available on yearly membership fee basis. Please refer to Remote Accesspage for more information.

Land Records Escrow Account
Professionals and title companies have an option of setting up an escrow account with Land Records to maintain a balance for obtaining copies and covering shortages when recording while in Land Records office. For more information and instructions please refer to Escrow Account Application
