Building Inspections
Special Notice
Due to a complete hardware failure, the Loudoun County telephone-based Automated Inspection Request System (AIRS) is not available.  During the interim we strongly suggest that you use the Web-Automated Inspection Request System (WAIRS) to schedule construction inspections and/or to cancel construction inspections.  Customers may also view inspection results using WAIRS.  This service is available 24 hours a day and is accessible at
www.loudoun.gov/wairs.

Those who do not have access to the Internet may call 703-771-5331 and they will be connected with a member of our Permit Issuance Team who will assist with scheduling.  Please be aware that the team members are available from Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  After that time, callers may leave a message which will be responded to the next business day.  The inspection will not be scheduled for 24 hours.

General Information

The Department of Building and Development Building Code Enforcement / Inspection Division enforces the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code to ensure the buildings in which we live, work and play are safe.  We are only one of many steps in the building construction process, and we deal specifically with reviewing building construction plans and specifications, issuing building construction permits, performing critical building construction inspections and ensuring building code compliance.  For inquiries relative to the building code, building plan review and building inspections, please contact the Building Code Enforcement/Inspections Division at 703-777-0220. For building code complaints, please see Uniform Statewide Building Code Complaints below.

If you would like information relative to Land and Site Development, Building Construction Permits, or Zoning, Please visit the Building and Development main page and select the appropriate links from the list provided on the left side of the page.
