Overview

Prevention and Intervention Services of the Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services provides mental health education and substance abuse prevention programs to children and youth in the schools and in the community.

Programs & Topics

Through numerous collaborative partnerships in the community, staff provide evidence based psycho-educational groups, after-school programs, summer camps, ESL classes and information and referral.  Topics include:

  • Addiction
  • Anger management
  • Communication skills
  • Conflict resolution
  • Grief and suicide prevention
  • Self-esteem
