The Substance Treatment Opportunity Program (STOP) has been in place since 1984. This program is a court mandated drug and alcohol educational program. The goal is to create awareness for alcohol and drug offenders, and their parents, to the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse.
All of these facets of the STOP Program are designed for the main purpose of educating juveniles and their parents to the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse, and the process of distancing themselves from harmful behaviors. The ultimate goal is to cease repeat offenses. This program has proved quite successful in obtaining that goal.
