Moving to New Units
After the initial lease term expires, the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) participant may choose to move to a new unit.
HCV participants may only move on the anniversary of their annual recertification. Exceptions to this may be made on a case-by-case basis as approved by the HCV Program Manager.
Any time you move you must re-submit all necessary verifications of income, assets, etc. and complete the recertification packet (online or by requesting the forms from your housing counselor). You will also be required to attend a family briefing and a new voucher will be issued to you. A family generally has 120 days to find a unit.
