The Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System is always looking for professional, dedicated and talented individuals to join our team! Whether you are looking for a career in emergency services or would like to volunteer in your community, there is a place for you in the Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System. Requirements to become a professional Loudoun County Firefighter/EMT
18 years of age by time of ad closure | High School Diploma/GED | Valid Driver’s License |

Base Starting Salary- $55,012.30 | Additional compensation credit for higher education | ALS Pay (Upon Local Authorization) – Paramedic: $14, 000* | |
ALS Pay (Upon Local Authorization) – Intermediate: $12, 000* | EMT Advanced Pay (Upon Local Authorization): $6,000* | up to $10, 000 ALS Incentive Bonus for EMT I/P Upon Local Authorization* | |
Schedule: 48 hour work week (24 on, 48 off with "Kelly Days" every seven shifts) | Virginia Retirement Benefits (with a 1.85% multiplier), including a Hazardous Duty Benefits | 457 Deferred Compensation Plan with employer match | |

*ALS Benefit: We are seeking Advanced Life Support (ALS) Providers to join our department. Upon local authorization following successful completion of Recruit School, an Intermediate or Paramedic will become eligible for a $10,000 one-time, lump sum incentive, in addition to an ALS Flat Dollar Market Adjustment (FDMA). The current ALS FDMA, in addition to the base salary, is Advanced (A-EMT) - $6,000, Intermediate - $12,000 and Paramedic - $14,000. |

Volunteering with the Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System
Currently, there are over a million firefighters in the United States. According to the National Volunteer Fire Council, 70% of those firefighters are volunteers. These volunteers save our country an estimated $138 billion with their donated time, based on a study done by the National Fire Protection Association.
Loudoun County is proud to have 15 Volunteer Companies that provide front line emergency services to the community and surrounding areas. Currently there are over 1, 200 volunteers and 600 career first responders in the Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System! Close to 800 volunteers serve in an operational capacity as the remaining administrative volunteers provide the necessary “behind the scenes” duties to maintain station operations.
Our operational members are professionally trained and have the ability to achieve certifications in the following areas at no cost:

- Hazardous Materials
- Emergency Vehicle Operations
- Vehicle Extrication
- Specialty Rescue
