Taxes in Incorporated Towns

Real Estate Taxes 

On January 1, 2022, Loudoun County will assume responsibility for billing and collecting real estate taxes for: 

On January 1, 2019, the Loudoun County Treasurer’s Office assumed responsibility for billing and collecting town real estate taxes for:

Residents and businesses will receive consolidated bills that include both county and town taxes as separate line items. Taxes will continue to be billed in two installments per year (June and December).

Personal Property Taxes

Vehicle License Fee

 A vehicle license fee of $25.00 is assessed each tax year for any vehicle that is situs (the place to which, for purposes of legal jurisdiction or taxation, a property belongs) in each town (if applicable) as of January 1 of each calendar year.

Payment of Incorporated Town Taxes

A single payment should be made to the county by the applicable due dates. Tax payment options and details can be reviewed here.

  • Checks: Submit one check payable to County of Loudoun.
  • Online: Tax accounts will show both county and town taxes. Online payments will be made through Loudoun’s online tax portal for both county and town taxes.

Payments should reference the Loudoun County real estate tax account number. Town tax account numbers will not be used for processing payments.

Prior Year Taxes

  • Real estate taxes for 2021 and prior years are payable to the respective town. 
  • Personal and business tangible personal property taxes for 2021 and prior years are payable to the respective town.
