Food Safety- Virginia Cooperative Extension

The Food Safety program offers technical and educational support to producers and consumers from farm to fork. Loudoun is the only county in Virginia with a designated food safety agent. The agent assists producers with food safety regulations such as the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and point-of-sale food safety such as at farmers markets or Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) stands. The agent also provides the retail food industry with Certified Food Protection Manager training through ServSafe trainings.

Master Food Volunteer Program

Through the Master Food Volunteer Program, Virginia Cooperative Extension-Loudoun recruits and trains volunteers to assist the public with up-to-date, research-based knowledge on food preparation, nutrition, food safety, and physical activity.
