This project constructed a new animal services building in Leesburg to serve as the primary location for Loudoun County Animal Services (LCAS), replacing the existing building in Waterford.
The new animal services facility is 21,450 square feet and has kennels, indoor and outdoor spaces, a veterinary clinic, a multi-purpose room, and a split lobby for adoptions and surrenders.
The new facility is the first public animal shelter in the United States to meet 100% of the animal shelter guidelines established by the Association of Shelter Veterinarians.
The project was completed in summer 2021.
Current Status: Complete
A ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the grand opening of the new facility was held on Friday, July 30, 2021. Loudoun County Animal Services (LCAS) provides information about their services from this facility at loudoun.gov/animals.
