Important Update Regarding Face Masks

Beginning Monday, August 9, 2021, Loudoun County will reinstate the requirement for members of the public and employees to wear face masks inside all County-owned-and-operated facilities regardless of vaccination status. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently updated its guidance for fully vaccinated individuals. Loudoun County has carefully considered the recommendations of the CDC, Virginia’s Governor and Northern Virginia Health Departments for everyone to wear masks indoors.

Loudoun County previously implemented Governor Ralph Northam’s Executive Order 79, effective May 28, 2021, which lifted all remaining capacity limits for gatherings and social distancing requirements in previous executive orders that have been in place in county government facilities as part of the efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19. See details.
