Waxpool Road at Pacific Boulevard/Broderick Drive

Overview

  • This project provides for the design, right of way (ROW) acquisition and construction of intersection improvements and turn lanes at Waxpool Road (Route 625) and Pacific Boulevard and Broderick Drive.
  • New turn lanes will be added at Pacific Boulevard from Columbia Place, AOL Drive and Broderick Drive. The project scope also includes modifications to allow right turns on a red signal on Pacific Boulevard at Waxpool Road, traffic signal modifications and improvements to the pedestrian network along Pacific Boulevard south of Waxpool Road.
  • The project budget includes cash proffers, state revenue sharing funds, and Gas Tax funding.
  • Public input on the design was solicited during a Public Information Meeting held on Tuesday May 20, 2014 at Discovery Elementary School in Ashburn, Virginia.
  • Estimated completion of the roadway is currently fall of 2022.

Current Status: October 2021

  • Design plans were approved in spring 2021.
  • Right-of-Way (ROW) activities and utility coordination are in process.
  • The completion of ROW activities and coordination with utilities is currently estimated for fall 2021.
