Who Is Currently Eligible for Vaccine? 

On April 12, 2021, Loudoun County expanded vaccination efforts to Phase 2, which includes all residents age 16 and older.

While appointments will be offered to Phase 2 individuals in the order pre-registrations were received, we will continue to prioritize vaccination for anyone in groups who are at greater risk of exposure and illness and for spreading the virus which includes the phases below: 

  • Phase 1a (PDF)comprised of health care workers and long-term care residents.
  • Phase 1b (PDF)includes people aged 65 and over, those 16-64 with high risk health conditions, and front-line workers who are defined as essential to the functioning of society and are at higher risk of exposure to the virus. Front-line essential workers in this priority group include: 
    1. Police, fire and hazmat workers
    2. Corrections and homeless shelter workers
    3. Child care/K-12 teachers/staff
    4. Food and agriculture workers (including veterinarians)
    5. Manufacturing workers
    6. Grocery store workers
    7. Public transit workers
    8. Mail carriers (USPS and private) 
    9. Officials needed to maintain continuity of government (includes judges and public facing judicial workers)
    10. Clergy/Faith Leaders
    11. Janitorial/Cleaning staff
  • Phase 1c (PDF): includes workers in sectors essential to the functioning of society and/or are at higher risk of exposure. Essential workers in the following sectors are included in this priority group:
    1. Energy
    2.  Water, Wastewater, and Waste Removal Workers (includes recycling removal workers)
    3.  Housing and Construction
    4. Food Service
    5. Transportation and Logistics
    6. Institutions of Higher Education Faculty/Staff
    7. Finance
    8. Information Technology & Communication
    9. Media
    10. Legal Services
    11. Public Safety (engineers)
    12. Other Public Health workers
    13. Barbers, Stylists, Hairdressers

How to Sign Up to Receive a COVID-19 Vaccine

To begin the vaccination registration process by complete a pre-registration form.

Already Pre-Registered, But Have Not Heard from the County?

The Health Department encourages anyone who has already pre-registered for a vaccine and is in the Phase 1a, 1b or 1c priority groups, but has not yet been contacted by the county for a vaccination appointment, to take two actions:

  • First, check your spam or junk email folder for an email from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), which is used to pre-register, to ensure the invitation for an appointment was not sent there.
  • Second, if you have not received an email, contact the county by calling 703-737-8300, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Other Vaccination Opportunities

In addition to receiving a vaccine from Loudoun County, people can also look for available vaccination appointments at pharmacies and other locations in the region by visiting These entities do not coordinate their registrations with the Health Department.
