Prentice Drive - Loudoun County Parkway to Shellhorn and Lockridge West

Overview

  • This project provides for the planning, design, right of way (ROW) acquisition and construction of Prentice Drive (Route 1071) from Loudoun County Parkway (Route 607) to Shellhorn Road (Route 643) at its intersection with Metro Center Drive and a new road, Lockridge West, between Prentice Drive and Waxpool Road.
  • The project was recommended as an essential road connection to provide connectivity to the planned Ashburn Metrorail Station identified in the 2010 Countywide Transportation Plan (CTP). Both roadways will be designed as four-lane urban major collectors, with associated turn lanes and bicycle/pedestrian lanes.
  • Funding for the project includes Local Tax funding, cash proffers and regional funding from the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority (NVTA).
  • This project is funded using local tax funding, NVTA 30% local funds, and NVTA 70% regional funds.
