Posted on February 3, 2023 at 11:11 AM by Heidi Kellum

Steel installation has begun for the new Ashburn Recreation and Community Center, currently under construction on Broadland’s Boulevard in Ashburn, Va. The steel will add support to the future building. In the coming weeks, crews will continue underground plumbing work and prepare to pour concrete floor slabs.

This project is in the construction phase, currently on schedule for completion in summer 2025. When construction is substantially complete, the facility will be turned over to the Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) for programming. More information about Loudoun County Capital Projects and phases is provided at loudoun.gov/capitalprojects.

The Ashburn Recreation and Community Center project is a 117,000-square-foot recreation and community center on Broadlands Boulevard, west of the intersection with Claiborne Parkway. The two-story facility will feature a 50-meter competition pool, leisure pool, spa, full-size gymnasium, soft sensory playroom, multipurpose room with a catering and teaching kitchen, classrooms, offices and meeting spaces.

Additional features include a multi-use trail around the property, a large courtyard with seating, a splash play area and playground equipment.
