[ARCHIVED] Three Helpful Things to Know about Using LandMARC

The original item was published from September 26, 2023 10:35 AM to September 26, 2023 10:51 AM

As the county and our customers get acclimated to using LandMARC, here are three helpful things to know about using the system.

Setting up multiple contacts within a company

LandMARC has a feature that allows companies or firms to manage a list of associates or contacts for multiple employees to have access to applications and projects.

In an effort to share information, some companies have attempted to create a shared LandMARC login. This practice is causing login issues that may prevent you from being able to effectively manage your work.

Creating a shared LandMARC login is not recommended. The system is not designed to handle shared logins and shared logins are against best practices for password protection.

Instead, companies should use the Contact Manager feature to add and manage associates. This feature will allow employees of a company to login individually while still being able to see work across the company.

Timing of Permitting Fee Payments

With the launch of LandMARC, a change was made to the timing of permitting fees. Prior to August 14, permit fees were collected at the end of the review/approval process.  With the new system, fees are invoiced at intake and must be paid before review is initiated

This change better aligns the business process with the functionality of the new system and ensures that we can more accurately invoice for the work performed during processing.

The process for intake and review of permits is as follows:

ActionResponsible Party

Permit application submitted

Application completeness check

Permits Team

Invoice generated to customer

Permits Team

Invoice paid

Permit application reviewed

Permits Team / Code Enforcement/ Other Referral Agencies

If approved, permit issued

Permits Team

Character Limit on Attachment File Names

All file names on attachments to applications must be 100 characters or less, including the file extension (i.e., .pdf, .docx, .xlsx). Attachments with file names that are longer than this will cause an error and prevent a file from being uploaded.
