• Total Vaccine Doses Administered - Loudoun: 796,902 (up 3,519 since last report) I  Virginia: 15,358,778 (up 197,345 since last report)

Loudoun County Update

• Final COVID-19 Testing Event for Now: Loudoun County will hold its final twice-weekly COVID-19 testing event Friday, February 25, 2022, at Franklin Park, 17501 Franklin Park Drive, Purcellville (Follow signs to the baseball field parking lot.) Testing is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The required registration form may be filled out and submitted online prior to the testing event.

  • The form is required and asks for general information including name, date of birth, address and phone number. The information is kept private. For anyone who cannot submit the forms online, paper forms will also be available at the testing site.
  • The testing is free and open to all. There are no age or residency requirements.
  • Loudoun County is ending its COVID-19 testing program February 25 due to a significant decrease in demand for COVID-19 testing and the wide availability of other testing options in the community. The county will continue to monitor local data and recommendations from the federal and state governments to determine whether the county should restart community-based testing at a future time.

• Final Week of Operations for Loudoun County Mass Vaccination Site: The Loudoun County COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Dulles Town Center will close this Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. Factors in the decision to close include: demand for COVID-19 vaccine in Loudoun has decreased and the vaccine is widely available from other providers in the community. The county is planning to open a smaller vaccination site in the future. Details will be announced in the coming weeks.
  • The county will continue to provide first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccine, as well as boosters, through the regularly scheduled hours on Saturday, February 26; however, individuals who receive their first dose of Pfizer or Moderna at the clinic this week will have to receive their second dose from another COVID-19 vaccine provider. 
  • The clinic is open tonight, Tuesday, 2/22/22, until 7:00 p.m.; Friday, 2/25/22, 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; & Saturday, 2/26/22, 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Walk-in vaccinations are available on a first-come, first-served basis during the COVID-19 vaccination clinic’s scheduled hours of operation. 

  • Appointments for COVID-19 vaccine are also still available. Visit the county’s website at loudoun.gov/covid19vaccine to schedule your vaccination appointment. Anyone who does not have access to the internet may call the COVID-19 Information Line at 703-737-8300 to schedule an appointment.  

• CDC Updates Booster Guidance for Immunocompromised: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has updated its guidance for people ages 12 and older who are moderately or severely immunocompromised, recommending they get a booster dose of the coronavirus vaccine three months, instead of five months, after completing the initial series of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. The guidance also says immunocompromised people who received the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine should get a second dose of either Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine and they should also receive a booster, for a total of 3 doses.
