Loudoun County, VA –The Loudoun County Sheriff’s announces that Major Ed Leonard will be recognized this evening for his work in the Dulles South area of the county.
Major Ed Leonard will be presented with the Distinguished Service Community Award at the South Riding Proprietary’s Annual meeting held at7PM at the South Riding Center. The Community Service Award will recognize Major Leonard’s significant contributions in support of the South Riding community.
Leonard served as a 1st Lieutenant at the Dulles South Public Safety Center in South Riding in 2007 and was promoted to Captain in 2010 where he served as commander of the station.
“Acting Major Leonard’s professionalism, proactive approach toward community outreach and leadership at the Dulles South Public Safety Center exemplifies the model as to how all law enforcement stations should serve their community,” said Loudoun County Sheriff Michael L. Chapman.
Leonard joined the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office in 1987. He currently serves as Acting Major of the Field Operations Division.
