[ARCHIVED] Name Sought for New Loudoun County Park

The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors has directed the Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services to initiate the public participation process to name a new park site.

The park is located in the Broad Run District off of Century Boulevard near the Dulles Town Center in Sterling, VA. The 7.7-acre passive park was originally dedicated to the county as part of a proffer condition. The site, which contains a segment of the old Vestals Gap Road, will feature interpretive markers about the historic road, benches, and a permeable trail.

Anyone interested in proposing a name for the park can submit the recommendation by email , or by mail to Steve Torpy, Director, Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services, 20145 Ashbrook Place, Suite 170, Ashburn, VA 20147. Include your full name, email/mailing address and phone number. The deadline for submissions is 5:00 p.m., Friday, August 29, 2014.
