LCSO Dulles South Public Safety Center to Hold 5th Annual Open House
Sheriff Mike Chapman Presented with Virginia House of Delegates Resolution of Commendation by Delegate David Ramadan
Loudoun County, VA:
Residents are encouraged to attend and meet Sheriff Mike Chapman and members of the Dulles South Station staff, take a guided tour of the facility, and view Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office displays. Light refreshments will be provided.
As part of the ceremonies, a Virginia House of Delegates Resolution brought forward by Delegate David Ramadan (R-Loudoun) will be presented to Loudoun County Sheriff Michael L. Chapman. “Since the station opened five years ago the men and women of the Dulles South Public Safety Center have taken a proactive approach to involve the community and its residents,” said Delegate Ramadan. “This includes numerous community outreach programs hosted by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office and a nationally recognized Neighborhood Watch program,” Ramadan added. He introduced House Resolution No. 527, which passed the House on March 27, 2012, to commend the work of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Dulles South Station. Sheriff Chapman also noted the importance of a proactive approach toward community outreach. “The efforts of the Dulles South Public Safety Center exemplify the model as to how all law enforcement stations should serve their community,” said Sheriff Chapman. The presentation of the resolution will be held Saturday afternoon.
The Virginia State Police H.E.A.T. (Help Eliminate Auto Theft) Program will also be on hand to provide VIN Etching. VIN etching is the process of placing a light but visible stencil of your vehicle identification number on each piece of glass in your car - windshield, windows and sun roof. This deters vehicle theft, since in order to resell your car with an altered identification number the thief would have to replace all of the glass in the vehicle. For more information about VIN Etching and to view H.E.A.T.’s calendar of events, check out the H.E.A.T. web site at www.heatreward.com.
The Dulles South Public Safety Center provides substantial public safety services to the community and reduces travel time to the Sheriff’s Office Headquarters in Leesburg. The station also offers a community room available for public use to local non-profit organizations. The Dulles South station is the agency’s first county owned station. The station serves as a combined fire-rescue station and law enforcement station.
The Dulles South Public Safety Center is located at 25216 Loudoun County Parkway, Chantilly, VA.
