Nighttime Road Closures Scheduled for March 6-10 on Route 7 Near Ashburn Village Boulevard

A portion of Route 7 in Loudoun County, between Ashburn Village Boulevard and Lexington Drive, is scheduled to be shut down between 12 midnight and 4:00 a.m. beginning the night of Monday, March 6, 2017, and continuing through the overnight hours of Friday, March 10, 2017. The road closures are necessary to repair storm damage to the Route 7-Ashburn Village Boulevard interchange construction project that occurred in late February

The schedule of work, which is subject to change, calls for repairs on the westbound side of Route 7 to be made Monday and Tuesday nights, March 6 and 7, with Route 7 shut down at Lexington Drive. Repairs to the eastbound lanes are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday nights, March 8 and 9, with Route 7 shut down at Ashburn Village Boulevard.  In the event of weather cancellations, work will be performed on Friday night, March 10. The planned detours are as follows:

Detour for westbound Route 7, March 6 and 7: Road closed at Lexington Drive.  
  • Left turn onto Lexington Drive
  • Right turn onto Atwater Drive
  • Right turn onto Russell Branch Parkway
  • Right turn onto Ashburn Village Boulevard
  • Left turn onto Route 7
Detour for eastbound Route 7, March 8 and 9: Road closed at Ashburn Village Boulevard.
  • Right turn onto Ashburn Village Boulevard
  • Left turn onto Russell Branch Parkway
  • Left turn onto Atwater Drive
  • Left turn onto Lexington Drive
  • Right turn onto Route 7

Law enforcement officers will be on the scene to provide direction as the detours are set up. Signs and message boards also will be used to inform drivers of the road closure.
