Loudoun County is holding a second round of community workshops as part of the Envision Loudoun process, which will result in the development of a new comprehensive plan.

Members of the public are invited to attend one of five Envision the Future workshops in June. The meetings are part of the county’s continuing effort to engage as many members of the community as possible to develop a new comprehensive plan, which will serve as a guide to effectively manage future growth and development in Loudoun. The workshops will last about two hours, preceded by a half-hour registration period. The schedule is as follows:
  • Monday, June 5, 2017: Harper Park Middle School, 701 Potomac Station Drive, Leesburg, Registration at 6:30 p.m., Workshop from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, June 7, 2017: Cascades Senior Center, 21060 Whitfield Place, Sterling, Registration at 6:30 p.m., Workshop from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
  • Monday, June 12, 2017: Broad Run High School, 21670 Ashburn Road, Ashburn, Registration at 6:30 p.m., Workshop from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

  • Thursday, June 15, 2017: Mercer Middle School, 42149 Greenstone Drive, Aldie, Registration at 6:30 p.m., Workshops from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
“We encourage all those who attended the Listening and Learning workshops in the fall to come back for this second round, as well as anyone who is interested in the future of Loudoun,” said Department of Planning and Zoning Director Ricky Barker. “We will be asking the community to weigh in on various approaches to reaching our goals.”

Each meeting will follow a similar format where participants are provided with an opportunity to discuss Loudoun County’s future and to share ideas through casual, small-group settings. Participants are encouraged to arrive at the meeting 30 minutes ahead of time for an open house, during which they will register and learn more about the topics to be discussed.

The Envision Loudoun planning process is addressing future growth, land use, transportation, community facilities and amenities, economic development, and fiscal management. More information is available at www.Envision-Loudoun.org.
