In recognition of the importance of transportation to Loudoun County, the Board of Supervisors has scheduled a Transit Summit for Monday, May 22, 2017, and a Transportation Summit Thursday, June 29, 2017. Both meetings will take place at 5:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Loudoun County Government Center, 1 Harrison Street, S.E. in Leesburg.

Transit Summit - May 22
At the Transit Summit, the Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure will provide the Board with an overview of the county’s current transit and commuter services and plans for those services after Phase 2 of the Dulles Metrorail Silver Line opens in Loudoun County.

The Transit Summit will give the Board an opportunity to give direction to county staff on developing a service delivery plan for transit and commuter services, including the Commuter, Metro Connection, Local and Paratransit Bus Services.  The Transit Development Plan, adopted by the Board in 2016, also will be discussed.

Transportation Summit - June 29
At the Transportation Summit, Board members will discuss the progress the county is making toward one of the Board’s strategic goals: to develop a safe, affordable and effective transportation network that serves the community. The Board will hear updates on current road projects, the construction of Phase 2 of the Metrorail Silver Line in Loudoun, and proposed updates to the Countywide Transportation Plan being considered as part of the Envision Loudoun initiative which will result in a new Comprehensive Plan.

The Board’s summits will be available for viewing on Comcast Government Channel 23, Open Band Channel 40, and Verizon FiOS Channel 40 as well as online at www.loudoun.gov/webcast.
