Stone Ridge II is the third Transform I-66 Multimodal project for the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission (NVTC) to begin operations. NVTC approved more than $1.9 million for Loudoun County to cover construction of the park and ride lot and two years of operating costs to run express bus service from Stone Ridge to the McPherson Square Metrorail station in Washington, D.C.

NVTC is the lead agency for Transform I-66 Multimodal, which uses toll revenue from the VDOT Transform 66 Inside the Beltway program to fund multimodal projects in five Northern Virginia jurisdictions. The projects will increase travel choices and travel-time reliability for drivers and transit riders alike by improving transit service and enhancing transportation connections along the I-66 corridor.
