Night Closures Planned for Route 7/Belmont Ridge Road Week of November 13, 2017

Loudoun County officials announce upcoming planned night closures to set overhead signs for the Route 7 and Belmont Ridge Road interchange project. Installation of overhead signage is required over both eastbound and westbound lanes of Route 7 and is scheduled to begin the night of Monday, November 13, 2017. Double lane closures are set to begin at 10:00 p.m. to accommodate installation of the overhead sign post.

During the week of November 13, 2017, a complete closure of Route 7 will occur once each night for a maximum of 20 minutes between 12:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. to install an overhead sign. Due to road closure time frame restrictions, it is expected that only one overhead sign will be installed each night and therefore only one 20-minute full road closure will occur each night. The overhead sign work is expected to be completed by the end of the week. Should this work be delayed due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, installation of the overhead signage would not occur until the week of December 4, 2017.

Electronic message boards will be posted to advise the public to expect delays the night of each planned road closure.  Law enforcement personnel will be on-site directing traffic during the night work and associated lane closures.

Updates and notices for the Route 7/659 Interchange project construction phase can be found at www.loudoun.gov/route7-659. Questions about the project may be directed to the Loudoun County Department of Transportation & Capital Infrastructure by email
