Loudoun County Encourages Commuters to Share the Ride on I-66

As commuters prepare for new rush-hour tolls on I-66 inside the Beltway, Loudoun County Commuter Services is planning to help with an “I Share 66” incentive program. The program is designed to reward those commuters who choose an alternative to driving alone, such as transit, carpooling or vanpooling.

Before the incentive program begins, Loudoun commuters who use I-66 are being asked to take a short, interactive survey about their commuting habits. The results will help the county develop the “I Share 66” program, which could include incentives such as Smartrip® cards or gasoline cards.

A link to the survey is online at www.loudoun.gov/IShare66. The webpage also includes information about:
  • How dynamic tolls operate;
  • How to obtain E-ZPass or E-ZPass Flex;
  • Rules for traveling on I-66; and
  • Travel options and solutions.
The new dynamically-priced toll lanes, which will operate during rush hours on I-66 between I-495 and U.S. Route 29 in Rosslyn, are scheduled to begin operating Monday, December 4, 2017.
