Loudoun County Seeks Input for Website Redesign

As Loudoun County prepares for a redesign of its website, loudoun.gov, the county is asking for feedback from residents, businesses and others who use the site. The survey results will help guide the development of the new website, which will be launched in the second half of 2018. The county is currently in the research phase of developing the new website infrastructure. Information from community members, website search data and Google search data will be used to guide the design of the new site, including navigation, page structure and page layout.

The website is the county’s primary communication tool, enabling people to access information about county services and programs and to complete a broad range of online business transactions. The county’s current website, which was designed in 2012, has been visited by one million individual users during 2017.

The new website will have a responsive design, which enables the site to automatically render content optimally on mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets. The enhanced design also will be easier to maintain and allow individuals to find county information quickly and efficiently.

Loudoun County is working with CivicPlus, its current website provider, on the redesign. The company specializes in creating websites for local governments and municipalities, and has more than 2,500 government clients across all 50 states, Canada and Australia.
