At its February 22, 2018, meeting, the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors approved the schedule for the upcoming phases of the Envision Loudoun process, which will result in a new Comprehensive Plan for the county.

The plan, once adopted, will outline policies for addressing Loudoun County’s most pressing issues, including community facilities and supporting infrastructure, economic development, fiscal management, quality development, redevelopment and reuse, residential housing choice and diversity, and the Suburban Policy and Transition Policy Areas.

Throughout March and April, the Stakeholders Committee will review drafts of the two components of the new Comprehensive Plan: a new General Plan and a new Countywide Transportation Plan.

During the last two weeks of May, the third round of Envision Loudoun’s public outreach component will take place. Six open houses are planned throughout the county, in which community members will have an opportunity to comment on both the new General Plan and the Countywide Transportation Plan. Public input will be captured at these events, as well as through online platforms, and will be shared with the Stakeholders Committee for review at its June 18 meeting.

On July 19, the Stakeholders Committee’s recommended plan will be presented to the Board of Supervisors, after which the plan will move on to the Planning Commission for review and public comment.

In late 2018 and early 2019, the Envision Loudoun process will be completed, when the Board of Supervisors conducts its final review, public hearing and endorsement of the new Comprehensive Plan.
