Update 03-19-18

Due to the possibility of inclement weather, Loudoun County officials announce a delay in the bridge work, traffic shift and detours at the Route 7-659 interchange construction project planned to begin Tuesday, March 20, 2018. The work is now scheduled to begin March 27, 2018.

The construction activities are related to preparations for a significant milestone in the project: the first phase of the opening of the interchange bridge. The work will eliminate the traffic signal on Route 7 and relocate Belmont Ridge Road northbound and southbound traffic onto the bridge.

Beginning Tuesday, March 27, 2018, weather permitting, and continuing for the next two months, motorists can expect delays during daytime and nighttime hours and are encouraged to find alternative routes if possible. The work will require traffic detours onto Route 7 eastbound from Belmont Ridge Road and onto Belmont Ridge Road from Route 7 westbound.

Updates about the project, including a detailed list of construction activities and a map of the planned detours, may be found at www.loudoun.gov/Route7-659. Questions about the project may be directed to the Loudoun County Department of Transportation & Capital Infrastructure by email
