Loudoun County will hold a public information meeting on the proposed Route 7/Route 690 (Hillsboro Road) interchange Monday, April 16, 2018, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at Woodgrove High School, 36811 Allder School Road in Purcellville. Representatives of the Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure (DTCI) and the county’s design consultant, Dewberry, will provide information about the design and location of the proposed project, answer questions and take comments.
The proposed Route 7/Route 690 interchange would alleviate connectivity issues in the roadway network around Purcellville, reduce traffic in downtown Purcellville and on Route 287, and provide a more direct route to destinations north and northeast of Route 7, including Woodgrove High School and Mountain View Elementary. The interchange would be located about two miles west of the Route 7/Berlin Turnpike interchange and about two miles east of the Route 7 and Route 7 Business interchange
The proposed project conceptual plans and environmental documents will be available for review at the meeting and also at DTCI, 101 Blue Seal Drive, Suite 102, Leesburg, VA, 20175. A preliminary project schedule, property impact information, right of way policies and environmental documents will also be available for review and comment before the public hearing and for 15 days after the public hearing at the DTCI offices.
The project has been selected to receive funding from Virginia’s Smart Scale program, which uses a prioritization process to fund transportation projects to provide the maximum benefits for tax dollars spent. The Smart Scale program includes the use of federal funds. As a result, the project will follow federal procedural requirements, including adhering to the National Environmental Policy Act process.
Anyone who requires a reasonable accommodation for any type of disability in order to participate in the April 16, 2018, meeting may contact DTCI at 703-777-0396. Advance notice is requested.
