The Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services and Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure, in conjunction with Grimm and Parker (Architects) of Tysons, Virginia, will hold a presentation of the renovation design concept for the Sterling Community Center on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at 7 p.m. The public is invited. The presentation will be held at Sterling Community Center, 120 Enterprise Street, Sterling, VA 20164.
Loudoun voters approved a bond referendum for the project in November 2014. Completion of the $15.5 million, 18,000 square-foot renovation, which includes 8,600 square feet formerly occupied by the Sterling Library, is anticipated by fall 2020. The renovated facility will feature an enhanced gymnasium, a fully-equipped instructional kitchen, a computer room, a gaming room for teens, a fitness room, an arts and crafts room, meeting rooms and classrooms. Design plans also include a new entrance and enhancements to the surrounding site.
