Loudoun County Animal Services to Host Expert Animal Cruelty Investigator Course

Loudoun County Animal Services will host a weeklong course on investigating animal cruelty. The classes are scheduled from July 23 to July 27, 2018. This is the most advanced level (expert) in a three-part series. The program is offered by the Law Enforcement Training Institute and is geared toward professionals but open to members of the general public.

The curriculum includes identifying and investigating a variety of animal-related crimes, the relationship between animal abuse and family violence, internet crimes, case building and disaster response.

Participants who receive a passing score at the end of the course are eligible for 40 continuing education credits through the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

The program will be held at the Loudoun County Fire and Rescue Training Center, 16600 Courage Court in Leesburg. Advanced registration is recommended. Group and agency discounts are available. Full details and registration information may be found here.
