Loudoun County is hosting free workshops designed to help bicyclists and pedestrians learn how to share Virginia roads and trails so they can commute to work safely.

Whether to lower transportation costs or get some daily exercise, biking and walking to work are increasingly viable options. The workshop will feature a League of American Bicyclists-certified instructor, Lisa Campbell, who will offer safety procedures and traffic regulations for all users of Virginia’s roads and paths, including bicyclists, pedestrians and motorists.

The workshops will take place at the Loudoun Workforce Resource Center, which is located on the first floor of the Shenandoah Building, 102 Heritage Way, NE, in Leesburg (rear entrance). Identical workshops are being offered on two dates:
  • Thursday, August 16, 2018, 5:30-7:00 p.m.
  • Friday, August 17, 2018, 9:30-11:00 a.m.
Topics covered include:
  • Walking and Riding Safely to Work or School
  • Sharing Trails and Roads with Cars
There will also be:
  • Equipment demonstrations
  • Giveaways
The workshops are sponsored by the Loudoun Workforce Resource Center, Loudoun Commuter Services and Sharing the Road in Virginia, a project of the Northern Virginia Regional Commission.

Although the workshops are free, registration is requested. Register online at www.loudoun.gov/wrcworkshops

For questions about the workshops, contact the Workforce Resource Center at 703-777-0150 or by email.
